The Water and Waste department is an important part of this work as we provide and develop water and waste services. We actively work towards sustainable waste management with a clear climb up the waste hierarchy. Our focus therefore encompasses everything from minimizing waste to reusing, recycling, collecting, treating, and managing waste as safely and sustainably as possible.

We are now looking for service-oriented environmental workers who want to be part of our exciting development of waste management in Skellefteå municipality. With us, you will have a daily life where it is easy to make time for everything.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an environmental worker, your main responsibility is to collect and transport food and residual waste from residents and businesses within Skellefteå urban area and surrounding areas. Your tasks include informing and teaching our residents to sort correctly. Other tasks may also occur, such as container driving and tagging of containers.

You always drive with a colleague in the vehicle. This makes the job smoother, safer, and a bit more fun. Together, you are 15 environmental workers who each day start from Östra Navet in Hedensbyn, Skellefteå.

Normal working hours are 06:00-15:00 Monday-Thursday and 06:00-13:15 Friday, with the possibility of flexibility. The work is 38.25 hours per week as you work light holiday shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a driving license with C-category and a valid YKB. You also need to have some documented driving experience with heavy vehicles, for example from internships or previous jobs. The most important thing is that you feel safe behind the wheel as you may need to maneuver the truck in tight spaces.

It is important that you have sufficiently good physical conditions to be active and move freely throughout the workday. You also need to have adequate knowledge of Swedish to communicate with both customers and colleagues. We manage digital driving lists in the garbage trucks, so it is an advantage if you also have some computer skills.

As part of the waste management operation, you are a representative of Skellefteå municipality, where a good attitude is a given. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys working in a service profession, is meticulous, and ensures that you complete what you have started. You also need to be open and have an easy time collaborating with different people.
